Jersey Boys movie reviews

The first signs of trouble come early, and visibly, in Clint Eastwood's film version of "Jersey Boys." The bleached-out skies of the opening scene, set in Belleville, N.J., in 1951, give way to depressingly muted colors—mainly browns and dark reds

Does Clint Eastwood's 'Jersey Boys' sing?
The story of the Four Seasons, who came up in a rough Italian-American neighborhood in New Jersey and flirted with real danger on their way to fame and fortune, is still a Broadway sensation, and the quartet's unique and nostalgic sound gives the film ...

Hellion movie review 2014

'Hellion' Star Aaron Paul Tells Us What He Was Like At 13 Aaron Paul is an established, respected TV and movie actor, whose latest film “Hellion” sees him playing a father of a teenager (played by Josh Wiggins). But Paul wasn't always so respectable, especially when he, like his on-screen son, was thirteen.

Writer-director Kat Candler does a terrific job of depicting hardscrabble desperation. Paul is quietly powerful as a flawed dad trying his best to guide his troubled son.

The Rover movie review

The Rover review – an Australian road movie that runs out of road He was coolly dissipated in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis, as a megastar essaying the end of the world in blacked-out limo shades, but the film, and the role, both stayed well within the confines of the comfortably numb.

Maleficent 2014 Review

Maleficent 2014 Review One of the most anticipated films this year was the intriguing Maleficent, a twist on the traditional Sleeping Beauty film and story we all know and love. Disney proved last year with the record-breaking and quite frankly glorious Frozen that they are ..

Maleficent is a 2014 fantasy film directed by Robert Stromberg from a screenplay by Linda Woolverton. Starring Angelina Jolie as the eponymous Disney villainess character, the film is a live-action re-imagining of Walt Disney's 1959 animated film Sleeping Beauty, and portrays the story from the perspective of the antagonist, Maleficent.

Principal photography took place between June and October 2012. The film premiered at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on May 28, 2014, and was released in the United Kingdom that same day. It was released by Walt Disney Pictures in the U.S. on May 30, 2014 in the Disney Digital 3D, RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and 2D formats, as well as in conventional theaters. The film was met with mixed reviews from critics, but was a commercial success grossing $358 million worldwide.

Angelina Jolie is the perfect person to play Maleficent, the woman behind Sleeping Beauty’s curse. Sly, nuanced and just as mysterious as a villain should be, she knows how to add drama to just about any story.
